Blue Highland Advisory Group brings project finance, PPP structuring and investment appraisal to bankable projects across Southern Africa — and is building the relationships to connect them with infrastructure, mining, agribusiness and development-finance capability from further afield, including Australia.
Blue Highland Advisory Group is a "one-stop shop" advisory and investment platform that supports project sponsors in bringing infrastructure and commercial proposals to bankability and financial close — offering financial, commercial, technical and strategic advisory across a range of emerging-market regulatory regimes, project structures and financing partners.
The firm's roots are in Lesotho and the wider Southern African region, where its team has appraised projects across energy, transport, water, agribusiness and industrial development. Blue Highland is now building out an explicitly global-facing positioning — connecting Australian infrastructure, mining, agribusiness and development-finance capability with investment-ready opportunity in Southern Africa.
The practice is led by Lere Letompa, an infrastructure, investment and transaction-advisory professional with over a decade of experience across project finance, PPP-style structuring, financial modelling, investment appraisal, valuation and feasibility studies. Lere holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the University of Johannesburg.
Advisory work is structured around five disciplines that recur across every mandate, whether the client is a project sponsor, a government department or a capital partner.
Financial appraisal, affordability logic, investment-case preparation, risk assessment and project prioritisation.
Capital-stack structuring, bankability assessment, term-sheet support, investor engagement and implementation sequencing.
Project preparation, delivery-model design, market sounding and pathways for private capital into public infrastructure.
Corridor and logistics-linked competitiveness, localisation structures and value-retention analysis for regional economies.
Stakeholder mapping, engagement planning and development-partner-facing reporting through to financial close.
Development risk capital that de-risks bankable projects and crowds in private finance to close the financing gap.
A sample of assignments led by the Blue Highland principal across finance, industrial strategy and capital structuring.
